Our Locations

Gran Vía School operates two programs at multiple outdoor learning locations across the South and East Metro Area. This multi-site model creates opportunities for learners acorss the metro area to learn through play, projects and direct exploration of Colorado’s natural environments.

Tuesday Program: Westlands Park

Westlands Park is a vibrant, 25-acre community park in Greenwood Village. Its open meadows, shaded groves, winding paths, sensory gardens and flexible play areas create a living classroom where students learn through exploration, movement and connection.

Students use the park’s varied natural and community spaces for Spanish-language practice, nature study, creative expression, STEM exploration and collaborative projects. In the event of inclement weather, Tuesday classes may be held indoors at Koelbel Library. Monthly excursions may also occasionally take students to another site for field-based learning.

Thursday Program: Aurora Nature and Open-Space Locations

Thursday classes are held at outdoor learning sites throughout Aurora. Depending on the program schedule and season, locations may include:

• Morrison Nature Center at Star K Ranch, where students can explore cottonwood forests, wetlands, prairie habitats and wildlife-rich trails.

• Plains Conservation Center, where students experience Colorado’s shortgrass prairie while learning about local ecology, conservation and the cultural history of the High Plains.

• Jewell Wetlands, an urban natural area featuring a wetland boardwalk, butterfly garden, pond and opportunities to observe birds, turtles and other wildlife.

Families receive the specific meeting location for each class in advance. Together, our Tuesday and Thursday learning bases allow Gran Vía School to provide consistent outdoor, Place-Based, Spanish-language instruction across Arapahoe County.
